Description

An adaptation of Isaak Tirion's map of Japan, itself a copy of Kaempfer, published in a Venetian edition of Thomas Salmon's 'Modern History'. Albrizzi reissued the plate, with an abbreviated title, in his Italian-text edition of Delisle's atlas, the 'Atlante Novissimo', in 1740. It is unusual to find this edition in original colour.
