Description

A pair of allegorical geographical guides to a man's heart and a womans' heart by Lowrey. The two satirical maps divide the hearts of each sex into regions, which were, according to an Editor's Note on reverse, 'inspired by a pair of Victorian lithographs, whose original artist-author is unknown'. Each marks the various points of entry (for example 'Good Cook's Gate' for men and 'Gate of the Good Listener' for women), obstacles (the male 'Impenetrable Wall of Ego' and the female 'Railroad of the Passing Fancy') and the objectives at the centre ('Walled City of the Real Him' & Hidden City of the Real Her'.

Condition:

Rust marks from centre fold staples.
