Description

Three sequential sheets (of probably 24 plus two calottes) of a terrestrial globe of about 15" diameter, together showing western and centra North America from the Equator to just above the Arctic Circle. They depict California as an island, the Mississippi entering the Gulf of Mexico in what is now southern Texas, the suggestion of a North West Passage, and a large 'Jesso' filling the North Pacific. Valk gore sheets are rare, as they were never included in an atlas.

Condition:

Trimmed ready for use.
