Description

A fine example of the finest Dutch atlas maps of France, with borders containing fourteen city prospects and eight costume vignettes (pairs of nobles, merchants, rustics and lawyers!), a large title cartouche and a compass rose. The plate was engraved by Pieter van den Keere and first published as a separate issue map. However Jansson acquired the plate, re-engraved the figures and issued it in his 1630 'Appendix'.

Condition:

Narrow margins on three sides as issued.
