Description
A scarce sea chart of Sri Lanka, orientated with north to the right, with decorative cartouches for the title and scale, and the vignette ships, elephant and hunting scenes.
This chart was originally published in 1680 for Johannes van Keulen's first 'Zee-Atlas', but this example was issued by Gerard van Keulen, son of the firm's founder, soon after he took over the family firm in 1704.
