Description
A French edition of the mapping of the American North West by George Vancouver's expedition, showing the coast from San Francisco north to Cook Inlet, with the site of Anchorage. The mapping was undertaken by Henry Roberts (not Edward), who had also served with Captain Cook on his Second and Third Voyages.
Vancouver's voyage proved there was no North West Passage south of the Bering Strait.
