A scarce map of America, engraved in 1596 for 'Spieghal der Spaenscher Tyrannye', a diatribe about the Spanish treatment of the native Americans. It was then used in the 'Caert-Thresoor', although for some reason the map was omitted from the first edtition, leaving its proposed location blank.
By 1600 this map was being published in the 'Tabularum Geographicarum Contractarum' with a text by Petrus Bertius, and in 1616 a new plate was engraved by Jodocus Hondius II, slightly larger and with wider borders with scales of longitude and latitude.
