Miniature map of the island of Hispaniola, now split between the Dominican Republic and Haiti, published in Luffman's 'Select Plans of the Principal Cities, Harbours, Forts &c. in the World'. At this time the French Republic controlled the whole island, but Santo Domingo was returned to Spain in 1809, aided by the British.
