Out of stock

Scarce map of the Caribbean, including Southern Florida (shown as an archipelago), the Bahamas and coast of Venezuela, including ArtibaI, Curacao , Buenayre, Tobago, Trinidad etc. It is decorated with an illustrated title cartouche with natives welcoming a European sailor.
Cassini's atlas, the 'Nuovo Atlante Geografico Universale', was a luxury work, with decorated maps on heavy paper, but was published at a time that the market was for more scientific (and cheaper) maps. It sold badly and so Cassini's maps are scarce.
