Rare first edition of this detailed map of Pakistan, published only three years after independence. The scale is one inch to fifty miles, with West Pakistan filling most of the sheet, with insets of 'East Pakistan' (now Bangladesh), 'Junagadh & Manavadar' (now in India, in the province of Gujarat, although the status of Manavadar is still disputed), and 'Pakistan and Surrounding Countries' (southern Asia).
Colonel C.A.K. Innes-Wilson, a Royal Engineers officer, was the first Surveyor General of Pakistan.
