A scarce map of southern India and Sri Lanka, a new map engraved for this second edition of the 'Caert-Thresoor', with the title (as above) coming from the letterpress surtitle. Although unsigned it was probably engraved by Benjamin Wright, who supplied four other new maps for this edition.
By 1600 this map was being published in the 'Tabularum Geographicarum Contractarum' with a text by Petrus Bertius, and in 1616 a new plate was engraved by Jodocus Hondius II, slightly larger and with wider borders with scales of longitude and latitude.
