Decorative map of China, with ornate cartouches for the title and scale. Van Loon's map first appeared in Jansson's 'Atlas Novus' in 1658, and as a late addition to the atlas is relatively uncommon. This example was published by Schenk & Valk from the 1690s, with their names added under the vignette sea battle.
