A map of the route taken by the Jews from Egypt to the Promised Land. Points of interest include Pharoh drowning in the Red Sea and Jonah on the back of a whale in the Mediterranean. The Israelites' route goes around Petra, the city that had been lost since classical times, and only rediscovered in the 19th century.
The map was published in 'Itinerarium Sacrae Scripturae', B?nting's re-imagining of the Bible as a travel book.
