An exact copy on a reduced scale of the Braun-Hogenberg's famous view,
with a 48 point key listsing the most notable monuments.
This rare plan was published in Henry de Beauvau's 'Relation Journaliere du Voyage du Levant', an account of the French diplomatic expedition of 1605-10 to Constantinople to meet the new Sultan, Ahmed I. A second edition was published later in 1619 with identical letterpress.
The plate is signed 'I.A. fe: Nancy', and has been attributed to the engraver Jean Appier.
