A very decorative 17th century map of Hertfordshire, with elaborate cartouches for the title and scale, the royal arms and a pillar for the shields of the local nobles.
The map was first published in 1645, during the English Civil War: this example comes from the only Spanish edition. the 'Atlas Major' of 1658-62.
