A sketched plan of San Nicolo fort, at the entrance to St Anthony Channel, Sibenik, within a frame-like border surmounted with the arms of Cosimo III de Medici (1642-1723, published in a variant edition of the 'Teatro delle citt? e porti principali dell'Europa'.
The map was published when as Venice celebrated Venice the recapture of much of Dalmatia during the Sixth Ottoman-Venetian War (or the 'Morean War' , 1684-99). Their joy was brief, as the Ottomans reclaimed their losses in the Seventh War (1714-18).
