A map of the defences of Valletta presented as a bird's-eye view, with a sea battle off the coast.
It was published in the 'Description de l'Univers', a five-volume work by Mallet (1630-1706), a military engineer, cartographer and mathematician in the service of the French King, Louis XIV.
