A rare map of Malta, orientated with north to the bottom right, engraved by Henri Raignauld for Anne de Nabarat's French translation of Giacamo Bosio's 'History of the Sacred Religion and Illustrious Militia of St John of Jerusalem'. It shows the island in 1565 when the Ottoman army of 40,000 besieged the 700 Knights Hosiptaller and 8,000 other soldiers, without success.
