An early example of this large map of Belgium, drawn by Price and engraved by Senex. Their partnership did not last later than 1711, after which Senex issued many of their maps in his 'English Atlas' from 1714. The title is within an illustration of siege warfare, with both wall design and weapons. At the time of publication the War of the Spanish Succession was at its height; at the end the Spanish Provinces had become Austrian.
Around the coastline of Picardy is a line marking the mistaken coastline according to Sanson, with a note 'N.B. That all Maps Printed for H.Jaillot and P. Mortier and Brought to England for Corret Maps are only Copies from Sanson with all his Errors and several by them Added not to be found in Sanson'. The maps of the Jaillot/Mortier 'Atlas Nouveau' were the only ones rivalling this series in size, so this is a very obvious attempt to discredit them.
