A very fine example of this map of Corsica, orientated with north to the left, decorated with a title cartouche of an allegorical female warrior and a dog, a scale cartouche with a mer-man with a trident and pair of compasses, and the arms of Corsica and Genova, who controlled the island at the time.
Because this map was only issued in the 'Atlas Major' from 1662 it is comparatively uncommon for a Blaeu atlas map.
