Minor restoration, laid on canvas. Some mss. annotations.

A sketch map of Hanoi, lettered in a mix of Vietnamese characters and the French names used before Ho Chi Minh established the Democratic Republic of Vietnam in 1954. Examples include the publisher's address of '61, Francis Garnier', a road named after the French officer who captured Hanoi in 1873.
Among the pencil annotations are two crosses on the Pont Doumer (Long Biên Bridge), perhaps marking a target or where the bridge has been already damaged in fighting.
