Description

A classic old map of Elizabethan Oxford, as surveyed in 1578 by Ralph Agas (c.1540-1621), orientated with south at the top of the map. Presented as a bird's-eye view, with the buildings shown in perspective, it was originally engraved and published in 1588. This version was engraved by William Henry for William Williams' 'Oxonia Depicta', to complement his own map of the contemporary city.
