Description

An unusual folding map of the gardens of Versailles, not only printed in eight colours but also embossed, a process Bauerkeller called 'geomontographie'. Above the plan is an elevation of the palace in the same style. Georg Bauerkeller's company was based in Darmstadt, with an office in Paris, and was active from 1830s - 1860s, publishing maps and small atlases as well as these 3D maps.
