Description

An Austrian version of De La Rochette's important map, first published by Faden in 1782. It marks the homesteads of many of the early Dutch settlers, the native kraals and the trails between the towns, and has a decorative title cartouche showing mounted Europeans hunting elephants with lances.

Condition:

Centre fold crease, very wide margins.
