Description
A detailed map of the environs of Mont Blanc surveyed by Captain Jean-Joseph Mieulet in 1863 as part of a map of France on a scale of 1:80,000. The map was engraved by Erhard Schieble and the relief hatchuring by Yves et Barret.
In 1861, a year after France annexed Savoy, the local border between France and Italy was determined, with the summit of Mont Blanc in France: this map was the first to be published with the new status quo.
