Description
An important map of Spain, based on a six-sheet map of Spain by Carolus Clusius (1571). It was issued in Ortelius’s 'Theatrum Orbis Terrarum', which is widely regarded as the first modern atlas. Decorations include a large strapwork title, a scale with compasses, sea monsters and ships.
