Description
An 18th century copy of an important manuscript sea chart of Spain, north-western Africa and the islands of the Atlantic, including the phantom islands of 'Brasil' and 'Antilla'.
According to Irish legend Brasil appears from sea mist once every seven years;
according to the Spanish 'Antilla' was found by seven Christian Visigothic bishops fleeing the Muslim conquest of Iberia in the 8th century.
