Description

A fine prospect of Naples, engraved by F. Campi, taken from a rooftop and looking across the city and bay towards a smoking volcano Vesuvius, with the important buildings named under the image. Bottom left townspeople dance the Tarantella on a rooftop. Carlo Bossoli (1815-84) was a Swiss-born painter best known for his views of the Crimea published just as the Crimean War broke in 1853 and a series of lithographs depicting the Second Italian War of Independence.

Condition:

A good example.
