Description

A striking view of New York in fine colour. through the central span of the Brooklyn Bridge, opened three years before, with the Statue of Liberty in the distance. As every available spot is filled with people it is likely to depict the opening ceremony. The bridge took 13 years and an estimated $15 million to build. The excitement generated by the construction led Currier & Ives to publish 20 views of the bridge between 1872-92.

Condition:

Some small repaired nicks, laid on backing paper.
