A caricature map of England and Wales

A rare caricature map of England and Wales, featuring John Bull reading 'The Times', a recumbent lion, Mr Punch and a Welsh woman in her traditional stove-pipe hat. All the placenames are coastal, so London is not marked. Lilian Lancaster (1852-1939) produced several caricature maps (also under her married name of Tennant), most famously the 'Aleph' series of maps of European countries.
