Description

One of the most decorative Dutch atlas maps of Denmark, with borders containing eight city prospects, ten costume vignettes, portraits of Christian IV his heir Frederick III and Tycho Brahe, and vignette views of Kronborg (Hamlet's Elsinore) and Brahe's observator Uraniborg. The plate was engraved by Pieter van den Keere and first published as a separate issue map. However Jansson acquired the plate, re-engraved the figures and issued it in his 1630 'Appendix'.

Condition:

Minor restorations.
