Description

A very decorative, rare and fine print of the sun showing sunspots and solar flares from Zahn's Specula physico-mathematico-historica. The engraving was published in Zahn’s Specula physico-mathematico-historica, a richly illustrated compendium of astronomy, cosmography, mathematics, and natural philosophy. Zahn, also wrote extensively on optics and is known for Oculus Artificialis Teledioptricus (1685), which included influential descriptions of the camera obscura and magic lantern.
