Description
A rare town plan of Istanbul, based on the Braun & Hogenberg plan of 1572.
It was published in the first illustrated edition of Henry de Beauvau's 'Relation Journaliere du Voyage du Levant', an account of the French diplomatic expedition of 1605-10 to Constantinople to meet the new Sultan, Ahmed I. A second edition was published in 1619 with identical letterpress.
