Description
A decorative map of Colombia, part of Ecuador, Costa Rica and Panama, extending south to Esmereldas and Venezuela extending east nearly to Caracas. Featuring two large compass roses, and two large cartouches.
This map was one of the plates bought by Willem Blaeu from the estate of Jodocus Hondius II in 1629, much to the chagrin of the Hondius firm.
From a three-volume edition of the 'Terraum Orbis Terrarum', published 1645-55.
