A rare set of Lafreri maps of Asia

Comprising a set of three very fine and important examples of cartography from the Lafreri school, depicting the first modern representation of Asia, engraved by Fabio Licinio. The first sheet encompassing from Asia Minor to Afghanistan and Northern India; the second sheet engraved in Venice, and showing the western half of Asia encompassing the Arabian Peninsula, part of the East Coast of Africa and part of the West Coast of India; the third sheet of Asia, engraved in Venice, and showing the Eastern half of Asia from India to the Spice Islands.
