A scarce carte-à-figures map of Switzerland

A superbly-decorated map of Switzerland with views of Lucerne, St Gall, Berne, Solothurm, Schafhausen, Basel and Zurich along the top and bottom margins, and six illustrations of the costume of nobles, merchants and peasants down the sides. For the later 'Atlas Novus' issue of 1636, the decoative borders were trimmed from the plate so the map would fit the book.
