Description

A French edition of this highly detailed map of the moon which was first published in German in 1837. It is a reduction of a four-sheet map by Johann Henrich Maedler (or von Mädler, 1794-1874), which was only the second accurate map of the Moon's surface to be published, naming 351 individual mountains and craters. His maps were only superseded in the 1870s.
