A bird's-eye view of the town and harbour of Manilla, showing the castle, with a sea-battle between galleons in the foreground. It was published in the 'Description de l'Univers', a five-volume work by Mallet (1630-1706), a military engineer, cartographer and mathematician in the service of the French King, Louis XIV.
