Description
An early map of Sicily with ornate cartouches for the title and scale, the Sicilian coat of arms and an inset portrait of Philip II of Spain (1527-1598), who was also King of Sicily.
The map was engraved by Johann Bussemacher for Quad's 'Geographisch Handtbuch'. A Latin-text version, 'Fasciculus Geographicus', was published in 1608. A fine dark impression.
