Description

A large and highly detailed map of Africa, published only three years before the outbreak of the First World War. It shows the continent under the control of the European powers, and is coloured to depicts the possessions of Britain, France, Portugal, Italy, Spain, German, Turkey and Egypt, and Belgium. Of interest are the German colonies of Kamarum (Cameroon), German South-West Africa (Namibia) and German East Africa (Tanzania), all of which changed hands before the end of the decade.
