An 18th century view of Guildhall

A view of the exterior of Guildhall, showing the original 15th century entrance, replaced by George Dance in 1788. The plate was probably engraved by either Johannes Kip (1653-1722) or Sutton Nichols, and was published in John's Strype's 'A Survey of the Cities of London and Westminster', a continuation of 'Stow's Survey'. This example comes from the first edition.
