Description

An elevated view of St Bartholomew's Hospital, better known as Bart's, showing the buildings a decade before James Gibbs rebuilt the hospital. The plate was probably engraved by either Johannes Kip (1653-1722) or Sutton Nichols, and was published in John's Strype's 'A Survey of the Cities of London and Westminster', a continuation of 'Stow's Survey'. This example comes from the first edition.

Condition:

A good example.
