Description
Two contiguous globe gores from the Northern Hemisphere of an 18" globe. The western sheet shows Greenland (with the mythical 'Frobisher's Strait'), the Grand Banks, the Azores and the Cape Verde Islands, with vignettes of Eskimos, canoes and seals. T the eastern sheet shows Iceland, the British Isles and North Sea, France & Netherlands, Iberia and Africa including Algeria and thew Gulf of Benin. The edges of the sheets suggest they were issued separately, and not in Coronelli's 'Il Libro dei Globi'.
