A two-sheet map of Europe

A large and decorative map of Europe with a fine baroque title cartouche. Alexis-Hubert Jaillot redrew Sanson's map of Europe on a larger scale at the request of Sanson's heirs. After a dispute Jaillot passed his work to the Amsterdam publisher Mortier, who re-engraved the maps and issued his own 'Atlas Nouveau' still with the original attributions.
