Description

The Holy Land after Stella, showing the route of the Exodus, published in the 'Theatrum Orbis Terrarum' atlas by Ortelius. It was printed from the first of three very similar plates. All three have the same two large strapwork cartouches; however this plate has five ships and three sea-monsters, while the second has only one monster, and the third only three ships and no monsters.

Condition:

A good example.
