Description

Engraved by Jodocus Hondius in 1610, this is one of the most decorative maps of the county of Cornwall: a large Royal crest, 8 armorials, a prospect of Launceston, four antiquities and galleons and sea-monsters fill the space around the peninsula. The English text on verso gives a history of the county and an extensive list of towns and villages.First editions are becoming increasingly uncommon.

Condition:

Very minor repairs to the centre fold. Left margin extended.
