Description

A detailed map of China and Burma, within an ornate border, decorated with six vignette, including views of Hong Kong and the British factories at Canton, Chinese dress, soldiers, a pagoda and a mandarin in a litter. The map was drawn and engraved by John Rapkin for the 'The Illustrated Atlas, and Modern History of the World, Geographical Political, Commercial & Statistical', edited by Montgomery Martin, which was one of the last decorative atlases to be published.

Condition:

Stitch holes at bottom, affecting publication line.
