A 17th century map of Sardinia, orientated with north to the right. The illustrated title cartouche features a woman with a giant foot, holding the arms of Sardinia with four Moorish heads. The scale is on a paddle held by Nereus, father of the Nereid. The map was published in Blaeu's 'Atlas Major', an eleven-volume atlas that was the most expensive publication of the 17th century.
