Description

A copper-engraved map of the province of Utrecht by Blaeu. The map shows the region in detail, extending into Holland to the north and west, Gelderland to the east and south-east, and the Amstelland area to the west. The surrounding landscape includes the Zuiderzee to the north-east, later enclosed from the North Sea and the Haarlemmermeer to the northwest, subsequently drained in the 19th century.
