Description
An uncommon map of Crete first published at the climax of the Cretan War (1645-69), in which Heraklion was under siege for twenty-one years.
First issued in 1667, this state has been re-engraved with lines showing how the Ottomans made their final attack, forcing the depleted defenders to surrender.
